Collinsville, IL – Several Hurt in Two-Vehicle Crash on I-55 at MP 8

Collinsville, IL (July 8, 2024) – Multiple people were injured in a two-vehicle crash on Saturday, July 6, on Interstate 55 near Collinsville.

According to Illinois State Police, the crash occurred around 10:30 a.m. on I-55 at milepost 8. The agency released preliminary information about its investigation on Saturday. State troopers determined a GMC truck traveling in the left lane struck the rear of a passenger car, but the reasons and causes for the crash have not been elucidated so far. The crash remains under investigation by local law enforcement officials.

At least two people were hospitalized, but the names of those involved in the crash weren’t released. Meanwhile, witnesses were asked to get in touch. No new information has been disclosed thus far.
